Kathleen M.
Campbell Kathleen M. Campbell is music director and conductor of the Westmoreland Symphonic Winds, a wind and percussion performance and educational organization consisting of professional musicians from southwestern Pennsylvania and qualified music students from Seton Hill University and surrounding institutions. She is an Associate Professor of Music and former Chair of the Music Department at Seton Hill University. Ms. Campbell is an active member of the College Band Directors National Association, National Catholic Band Association, National Band Association, National Association of College Wind and Percussion Instructors, Music Educators National Conference and Westmoreland County Music Educators Association, Ms. Campbell also serves on the Arts in Education committee of the Westmoreland Cultural Trust. Kathleen Campbell is a graduate of Seton Hill University and holds a Master of Music in wind conducting from the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music where she was assistant director of bands under Dr. Terrence Milligan. From 1994-1996, Ms. Campbell served as music director and conductor for the Westmoreland Youth Symphony Orchestra. In addition, she has guest conducted numerous honors bands throughout Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Ohio. An active clinician and adjudicator in the tri-state area, Ms. Campbell also performs regularly as a free-lance musician, including appearances with the Westmoreland and University of Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestras. Ms. Campbell was named the 1997 "Lifetime Achievement in the Arts" award recipient by the Greensburg Area Cultural Council (now the Westmoreland Cultural Trust). In 1999, she was the CASE "Professor of the Year" at Seton Hill University. |
