Theodore A. DiSanti

Ted DiSanti is Associate Professor of Music at Seton Hill University where he also directs Jazz Ensembles and teaches courses in  Aural Theory, Jazz History, Brass Techniques, Jazz Improvisation, and Applied Trumpet.  He holds degrees from the Berklee College of Music in Boston (Professional Music Degree; 1982) and Youngstown State University (B.M./Jazz Performance; 1985 and MM/Performance; 1988), and the University of Northern Colorado (Doctor of Arts/Trumpet Pedagogy and Performance; 2004.)

As a performer, Ted has appeared with the Fargo-Moorhead Symphony Orchestra, the Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra, the Rocky Mountain Brass Quintet, the Muddy River Brass Quintet, the Fargo-Moorhead Opera Company, and the Jazz Arts Big Band.  He has appeared as a guest soloist with the Youngstown State University Orchestra, the Slippery Rock and Westminster College Orchestras, and with various high school and college jazz ensembles throughout the Midwest. 

As a jazz performer, Ted has shared the concert stage with some of jazz's finest musicians, including Gene Harris, Red Holloway, Carl Fontana, Johnny Frigo, Ingrid Jensen, Laura Caviani, Sue Terry, Bobby Watson, Guido Basso, and Jay Sollenberger. His jazz compositions have been performed at Minnesota State University Moorhead Jazz Ensemble, the Youngstown State University Jazz Ensemble, the North Dakota State University Jazz Ensemble, and the Jazz Arts Big Band of Fargo-Moorhead.

Before coming to Seton Hill University, Ted served on the faculty at Minnesota State University Moorhead, the University of Northern Colorado, and Slippery Rock University.
